Designing for yourself can sometimes be more complicated than designing for a client.Your mind races with excitement and you want to throw bits of all your skill into it but just like with the client you have to reel it in a bit and focus on solving the problem at hand getting your message across effectively and with maximum impact, often at a glance.
The design reals them in to want to know more about what they are seeing. Colors that attract the eye, an image that catches their curiosity or a layout that is appealing with some cool fonts strategically placed. It’s all a delicate combination that you hope you can bring together even for yourself.
Above is a pop up sign I designed for myself for vendor events. It is to be displayed in walk paths of potential clients interested in purchasing art, either then or at a later date. A quick reference to my other abilities but ultimately I want to draw them in to browse, chat and hopefully buy. What do you think?
